Personal Data Protection Notice

Your privacy is important to us. The purpose of this Personal Data Protection Notice is to inform you of how we handle or process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“the Act”) and other applicable laws. Please take a moment to read this Personal Data Protection Notice so that you know and understand the purposes for which we collect, use and disclose your Personal Data.

By downloading, accessing or using the Lalitha mobile application ("Lalitha" or the "App"), creating an account, signing in, uploading photos, using AI saree try-on features, interacting with community content, or otherwise using any service offered through the App, you agree and consent to us collecting, using, disclosing and sharing your Personal Data, and disclosing such Personal Data to our authorised service providers and relevant third parties in the manner and for any of the purposes set forth in this Personal Data Protection Notice. In addition, this Personal Data Protection Notice will also provide you with more information on the bases upon which we may lawfully collect, use and/or disclose your Personal Data without your consent, where permitted by applicable law.

This Personal Data Protection Notice supplements but does not supersede nor replace any other consents you may have previously provided to us nor does it affect any rights which we may have at law in connection with the collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Data, and any consents you may have provided in connection with this Personal Data Protection Notice are cumulative and additional to any rights which we may have under applicable law to handle or process your Personal Data.

We reserve the right to update or modify this Personal Data Protection Notice from time to time, and send you notification of updates to this Personal Data Protection Notice in any form as we may deem appropriate. While you should regularly check this Personal Data Protection Notice, we may also inform you of how we process your Personal Data by publishing (or amending) this Personal Data Protection Notice and, where required by applicable law, by posting a notice, or reaching you via other forms of communication (e.g. sending you an email or in-app message) based on the contact particulars that we may have of you in our records from time to time.

To the maximum extent permissible under applicable law, you agree to be bound by the prevailing terms of the Personal Data Protection Notice as updated from time to time in the App and/or as you may be notified. Hence, please check regularly for updated information on the handling of your Personal Data.

For avoidance of doubt, this Personal Data Protection Notice forms a part of the Lalitha Terms and Conditions (“App Conditions”). In the event of any conflict, inconsistency or conflict between this Personal Data Protection Notice and the App Conditions, the Personal Data Protection Notice shall prevail. All defined terms contained in the App Conditions shall apply to this Personal Data Protection Notice unless otherwise specifically stated.

Your Personal Data
1. In this Personal Data Protection Notice, “Personal Data” refers to any data or information about you from which you can be identified either (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access. Examples of such Personal Data which you may provide to us include (depending on the nature of your interaction with us):
  1. your name, telephone number(s), mailing address, email address and any other information relating to you which you have provided us in any forms you may have submitted to us, or in other forms of interaction with you;
  2. account identifiers, sign-in provider information (such as Google or Facebook account details permitted by your sign-in settings), profile photo URL, and membership or account creation dates;
  3. photographs and images you upload for AI saree try-on, recent person photos stored in the App, rendered try-on images, saved looks, and community saree images or metadata you choose to share;
  4. information about your use of the App and our services, including device identifiers, push notification tokens, app version, operating system information, and interaction logs, but only to the extent that we may identify you from such information;
  5. payment or billing related information, where applicable, such as transaction references processed by third-party payment providers; and
  6. information about your usage of and interaction with the App, including feature usage, preferences, likes, shop detail requests, friend or circle interactions, and support communications.
Collection of Personal Data
1. Generally, Lalitha collects your Personal Data in one or more of the following ways:
  1. when you create an account or sign in through Google, Facebook or other supported authentication methods;
  2. when you upload photos, select sarees, create looks, save or like renders, or otherwise use AI try-on features;
  3. when you participate in community features, upload or interact with community sarees, or use social features such as My Circle;
  4. when you submit or respond to shop detail requests through Where to Buy or Help Buyers;
  5. when you interact with our customer support or contact us by email;
  6. when you enable notifications or adjust privacy and notification settings in the App;
  7. when you respond to our promotions, surveys or other initiatives;
  8. when we receive information from service providers that help us operate the App, such as cloud hosting, authentication, image processing, analytics or messaging providers; or
  9. when you submit your Personal Data to us for any other reason connected with the App.
2. When you use the App, certain technical information may be collected automatically to keep the App secure and functional. We do not automatically collect all categories of Personal Data unless you provide such information to us or use features that require it.
3. If you provide us with any Personal Data relating to a third party (e.g. information about another person in a shop request or support message), by submitting such information to us, you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of the third party to you providing us with their Personal Data for the respective purposes.
4. You should ensure that all Personal Data submitted to us is complete, accurate, true and correct. Failure on your part to do so may result in our inability to provide you with products and services you have requested, or processing any requests and applications you may have made to us.
Purposes for the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Data
1. Generally, Lalitha collects, uses and discloses your Personal Data for the following purposes:
  1. responding to, processing and handling your queries, requests, complaints and feedback;
  2. creating and maintaining your account and providing access to App features;
  3. providing AI saree try-on, image rendering, look history, saved looks, and related styling features;
  4. syncing your preferences, likes, shop requests and account data to the cloud when you are signed in;
  5. managing the infrastructure and business operations of Lalitha and complying with internal policies and procedures;
  6. verifying your identity;
  7. preventing, detecting and investigating fraud, abuse, security incidents and other harmful activity;
  8. protecting and enforcing our contractual and legal rights and obligations;
  9. conducting audits, reviews and analysis of our internal processes, action planning and managing commercial risks;
  10. compliance with any applicable rules, laws and regulations, codes of practice or guidelines or to assist in law enforcement and investigations by relevant authorities; and/or
  11. any other purpose relating to or reasonably necessary for any of the above.
2. In addition, Lalitha may collect, use and disclose your Personal Data for the following purposes, depending on the nature of your relationship with us:
  1. If you use AI try-on and look features:
    1. to process photos you upload and generate rendered saree looks;
    2. to store recent photos, saved looks and render history on your device and, where you are signed in, in cloud storage linked to your account;
    3. to let you compare, download, share, like or delete your looks; and
    4. to improve rendering quality, reliability and user experience.
  2. If you use community, trending or social features:
    1. to display community sarees, uploader profiles, likes and trending activity you choose to participate in;
    2. to manage My Circle friend requests and related notifications; and
    3. to moderate content and keep community features safe, including reviewing reports of inappropriate, pornographic, obscene, indecent, abusive or illegal user content and taking appropriate action where necessary;
  3. If you upload, share or post photos, renders or other content in the App, including through My Circle or community features, you must not upload pornographic, obscene, indecent, abusive, illegal or otherwise inappropriate material. Lalitha is not responsible for content uploaded or shared by other users. If you encounter inappropriate content, please report it to us using the contact details in this Notice so that we can review it for moderation purposes.
  4. If you use shop request features:
    1. to let you request shop details for sarees and to let other users respond to those requests;
    2. to send notifications about request status and responses; and
    3. to maintain records of requests and replies connected to your account.
  5. If you enable notifications or usage insights:
    1. to deliver push notifications you have chosen to receive, such as shop request updates or friend requests;
    2. to respect notification preferences you set in the App; and
    3. where you opt in, to collect anonymous usage trends to help us improve Lalitha.
3. In addition, where permitted under applicable laws, Lalitha may also collect, use and disclose your Personal Data, and share your Personal Data with our business partners, service providers and/or other third parties for the following purposes (which we may describe in our documents and agreements as "Additional Purposes" for the handling of Personal Data):
  1. providing services, products and benefits to you, including promotions, loyalty and reward programmes;
  2. sending you details of products, services, special offers and rewards which may be of interest to you; and/or
  3. conducting market research, data analytics, and understanding customer preferences to develop and improve our products, services and marketing programmes.
4. With your clear consent, we may use your contact details to send you marketing or promotional information regarding Lalitha via email, push notifications or other channels you have agreed to receive.
5. You may withdraw your consent for receiving marketing or promotional materials/communication by contacting us using the contact provided at Clause 10.1. Once we receive confirmation that you wish to withdraw your consent for marketing or promotional materials/communication, it may take up to 30 calendar days for your withdrawal to be reflected in our systems. Therefore, you may still receive marketing or promotional materials/communication during this period of time. Please note that even if you withdraw your consent for the receipt of marketing or promotional materials, we may still contact you for other purposes in relation to the products and services that you have requested or use within the App.
Disclosure of Personal Data
1. Lalitha will take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data against unauthorised disclosure. Subject to the provisions of any applicable law, this Personal Data may be disclosed, for the purposes listed above (where applicable), to the following third parties, whether they are located overseas or in Singapore:
  1. cloud infrastructure, authentication, database and storage providers that help us operate the App (such as Firebase and related Google Cloud services);
  2. sign-in providers you choose to use, such as Google or Facebook;
  3. AI, image processing and rendering service providers used to generate try-on results;
  4. messaging, email and customer support tools;
  5. analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring providers;
  6. payment processors, where applicable;
  7. professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers;
  8. relevant government regulators, authorities or law enforcement agencies where required by law; and
  9. any other party to whom you authorise us to disclose your personal data.
Deemed consent
1. In addition to the matters set forth above, subject to and in accordance with applicable law, you shall be deemed to have consented to Lalitha collecting, using, disclosing and sharing your Personal Data, and disclosing such Personal Data to our authorised service providers and relevant third parties:
  1. where in response to a request for your Personal Data in connection with identified purposes, you voluntarily provide such Personal Data to us for such purpose(s);
  2. where the collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Data is reasonably necessary for the conclusion and/or performance of a contract between you and us or any other arrangement entered into at your request, which may include recipients of your Personal Data not indicated in this Personal Data Protection Notice; and/or
  3. where we have brought to your attention our intention to collect, use or disclose your personal data for identified purposes, and you have not taken any action to opt out within the period specified in our notices. For this purpose, you agree that we may provide you such notices via the App, or via other forms of communication (e.g. email) based on the contact particulars that we may have of you in our records from time to time.
Other Bases for Handling or Processing Your Personal Data
1. In addition to and without limiting the consents you have provided to our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data for the purposes set out elsewhere in this Personal Data Protection Notice, where permitted by applicable law, Lalitha may also in accordance with the requirements thereof collect, use and/or disclose your Personal Data as further detailed below including without your further consent, where we meet the requirements of applicable law:
  1. for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of any other person, including but not limited to protecting the life, health and safety of individuals in an emergency, and other purposes expressly set forth in this Personal Data Protection Notice; and/or
  2. for improving our products, services, processes or business, understanding customer preferences and personalising experiences and recommendations, based on your Personal Data records with us.
Use of Cookies and Related Technologies
1. When you use our websites, applications or services, we may monitor how you interact with our websites and applications by collecting or analysing Usage Data (such as your frequency of use, page views, and site preferences). While this data is linked to your device to improve your experience, we also use it to generate anonymous, aggregate statistics about our overall traffic.
2. In this regard, Lalitha uses cookies and related technologies to enable the functioning of our services, improve performance, and collect the Usage Data mentioned above to analyse user behaviour. This includes analysing traffic patterns and determining whether a communication has been received, opened, and acted upon, to help us understand the effectiveness of our communications and improve our services.
3. Cookies – Small data files saved to your device that allow us to track your usage and recognise your preferences and access privileges (such as your preferred settings and account status).
4. Web Beacons – These include small graphic images (also known as "pixel tags" or "clear GIFs") that are not apparent to the user; and tracking links and/or similar technologies that consist of a few lines of programming code and can be embedded in our websites or platforms.
5. We may use the terms "cookies" or "related technologies" interchangeably in our policies to refer to all technologies that we may use to collect or store information in your browser or device or that collect information or assist in identifying you as a unique user in the manner described above.
6. If you access Lalitha through a browser or embedded web content, you may be able to disable certain cookies or related technologies through your device or browser settings. However, you may not be able to use certain parts of our services if you disable them.
Third-Party Sites
1. The App may contain links to other websites or services operated by third parties, such as sign-in providers, payment providers or content partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites or services operated by third parties that are linked from the App. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of such third-party websites and services. Some of these third-party services may be co-branded or integrated with Lalitha, even though they are not operated or maintained by us. Once you leave the App or interact with a third-party service, you should check the applicable terms, conditions and policies of the third party to determine how they will handle any information they collect from you.
Retention of your Personal Data
1. Lalitha will store your Personal Data only to the extent necessary for legal and our business purposes, including for the purposes set forth in this Personal Data Protection Notice, except as provided otherwise by applicable laws. When there is no longer any business or legal purpose for retaining your Personal Data or the statutory retention period expires according to applicable laws, we will delete or anonymize your Personal Data.
Withdrawal, Access and Correction of your Personal Data
1. If you wish to withdraw consent, access, or correct your Personal Data, please use the relevant settings within the App where available. If you are unable to do so, or if you wish to request the deletion of your Personal Data, please contact us via:

2. Please note that if you withdraw your consent or request the deletion of your Personal Data, we may not be able to continue providing our products or services to you, or administer our contractual relationship. Depending on the nature of your request, this may result in loss of access to saved looks, cloud sync, shop request history or other account-linked features. In such cases, our legal rights and remedies are explicitly reserved.
3. If you wish to exercise any other legal rights under applicable laws, please contact us using the details found at Clause 10.1. Please note that we may be unable to fulfill your request in certain circumstances permitted by law. For example, we may decline requests that are contrary to our legal obligations, would reveal trade secrets or confidential commercial information, involve malice or abuse of rights, or would infringe upon the rights and interests of others.
Governing Law
1. This Personal Data Protection Notice shall be governed in all respects by the laws of Singapore.
